Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is coaching?
Coaching is a collaborative and confidential partnership designed to support meaningful growth, clarity, and intentional change. As defined by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that helps people maximize their personal and professional potential.

It creates space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. Through structured conversation and inquiry, coaching supports deeper self-awareness, clearer priorities, and purposeful action aligned with your values.

Coaching is not advice-giving or problem-solving. It is a partnership that supports you in generating your own insights and taking action that feels aligned, intentional, and sustainable.

Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching and therapy are distinct forms of support, each with different purposes.

Coaching focuses on the present and future. It supports reflection, clarity, self-awareness, and meaningful action in work and life.
Therapy is generally focused on healing emotional distress, processing past experiences, and addressing mental health concerns.

Coaching is not a substitute for therapy and does not involve diagnosing or treating mental health conditions. It is best suited for individuals ready to explore growth, leadership, transition, or change with the support of a trained thinking partner.
Some people choose to work with both a therapist and a coach, depending on their needs.

What happens during a coaching session?
Each coaching session is unique and shaped by what is most present for you in the moment. We typically begin by identifying what feels most important to explore — whether that is a leadership challenge, transition, decision, or something less defined but meaningful to understand.

My coaching approach is holistic, practical, and grounded. I integrate both reflective and action-oriented work, recognizing that meaningful growth involves mindset, behaviour, emotional awareness, and the broader systems we operate within.
Depending on your goals, our work may include reflective inquiry, values clarification, somatic awareness, mindfulness practices, exploration of patterns and assumptions, and practical dialogue around decision-making, priorities, and accountability.

Some sessions are reflective and exploratory. Others are more focused and action-oriented. Most include both.

At the core, coaching is a collaborative process. My role is to offer a grounded, structured space for clarity, honest reflection, meaningful challenge, and aligned action—so you can engage with your work and life in a way that feels intentional, effective, and sustainable.

What should I look for in a coach?
A strong coaching relationship is built on trust, fit, and openness.

Training, credentials and experience matter, and so does the quality of connection.

When choosing a coach, it can be helpful to notice:
  • Do you feel at ease and understood?
  • Do you feel both supported and appropriately challenged?
  • Does the coach’s style resonate with how you think and work?
  • Can you imagine building trust over time?

The right coach helps create a space where you can think clearly, speak honestly, and engage in meaningful reflection and action.
If something here resonates, I welcome you to connect for a complimentary discovery conversation.

What is the investment to work with you?
I offer coaching packages over 3, 6, and 12 months, along with shorter-term options.
Rates vary depending on format, frequency, and level of support.

How often do coaching sessions occur?
Frequency depends on your goals, schedule, and level of support needed.
Many clients begin with two sessions per month over a 3, 6, or 12-month engagement.

Shorter packages and single sessions are also available for focused work on a specific transition, decision, or leadership challenge.
We can explore options together in a discovery conversation.
